how anyone thought of what you will be like when you are old, when you are in 65s. i only can reply i dont know. but after i saw the old folks in the old folks home, it makes me think all these things. i had never saw so many old people at the same time in one place. "Old" word is definately far from us now, but in the near 50 years, this word will be use to describe us.
i went to do CIP in a old folks home. we paired up in two-s for one old folk. nasreen and me were in the same group. the old folk we took care of is a malay who look like a chinese. she was a healthy person, cheerful, open minded as compared to some elders there. they were not really willing to talk to us and was sitted there slilently. the "there" i was refering to is the coffee shop nearby the old folks home. that was the first stop we went to. when we were there, we start ordering food and drinks for them. and then sit sit for one hour plus? yea, after that we headed back and we start to open mahjong table for us to play with the old folks. at first we played by our own as no one wants to played with us, so we played among us. after few rounds, we went to have our lunch. things become better after lunch time. we start our painting, nail polish and of course, mahjong and big 2. blahblah. then got one uncle tell us( me + desmond) that our generation was really lucky as we didnt go throught the war period and blahblah. things i do durin CIP
-listen to uncle say about the history (he also know how to speak japanese lea!)
-help to paint their finger nails
-watch people painting
-watch people play mahjong
-never watch people play big2 cox i dont know how to play
-but very busybody go watch people play chinese chess
i really dont know how to answer her when she asked us will we be coming back to find them again? when will we come again that kind of question. so after some think through.. my conclusion is we are selfish. we only visit them when we need CIP, its kind of use them. and since we visit them, it gives them hope that there will someone visit them again when we dont! and after we left, we get our CIP hours wherelse they were let alone again. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH
